On 8 November 2002, the Security Council passed Resolution 1441 by a unanimous 15 to 0 vote, which included Russia, China and France, and Arab countries, such as Syria. This gave this resolution wider support than even the 1990 Gulf War resolution. Although the Iraqi parliament voted against honoring the UN resolution, Iraqi President Saddam Hussein over-ruled them.
Resolution 1441 specifically stated:
That Iraq was in material breach of the ceasefire terms presented under the terms of Resolution 687. Iraq’s breaches related not only to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs), but also the known construction of prohibited types of missiles, the purchase and import of prohibited armaments, and the continuing refusal of Iraq to compensate Kuwait for the widespread looting conducted by its troops in 1991.
That “…false statements or omissions in the declarations submitted by Iraq pursuant to this resolution and failure by Iraq at any time to comply with, and cooperate fully in the implementation of, this resolution shall constitute a further material breach of Iraq’s obligations”.

Zarby, c’mon man does this seem right to you? Completely out in 16 months? No Base at all? Some troops to protect the embassy? WTF?
It will take time, but terrorist groups will reform, gain strength over his term in office and will most likely result on another, if not multiple, large attacks on the civilized world. All of this will happen under his watch just like it did with Clinton. Then the next president has to deal with it. These issues have to be resolved now and we can’t continue to sweep it under the rug like we have in the past.
These people want to kill you and diplomacy is not the answer. You can’t negotiate or talk this one out. They brainwash kids just like they do in other uncivilized countries. The key is education and long term resolution. There’s no quick solution and it’s not something you can run away from and deal with as it comes. We tried that and it obviously didn’t work. The idea that we don’t need permanent bases there is just ridiculous and makes everything we’ve been through mean nothing. I would much rather have this fight over there than here. Wouldn’t you?
Case and point.
Bringing Our Troops Home - Obama’s Plan for Iraq
Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda.
Zarby, for your comments on Iraq spending and how it has ruined out economy…
*the 600 Billion number is actually our entire defense budget, not just the war on terror as indicated below.*
This budget problem is real, and it’s really, really big. Here’s one way to get a handle on how big the federal debt is. The annual interest we pay on that $9 trillion costs us more than the war in Iraq. Mindboggling, isn’t it? And while getting out of Iraq could save massive amounts of money — not to mention irreplaceable human lives — it won’t solve our budget problems. As of June 2007, we’ve spent more than $600 billion on Iraq, Afghanistan and the rest of the “war on terror.”€ In the same time period, we added over $2 trillion to the country’s debt. So it’s not just Iraq€ — not by a long shot.
THAT’S MY BOY!!!! (literally not a racial slur) What a well crafted analysis. Makes me proud. There is hope. Now what time is church with the Rev Wright? I cant wait to sing his GD America song. Oh and by the way did you know that the white man started aids to kill the black man?
B you missed an all out battle over political ideologies after the game since your WIFE said you can’t go out to demolish 6 deep dish pies of heavenly pleasure (shroom & roni pies are the bestist) and 11 pitchers of brew ha ha’s. Although there were multiple toasts to San for scoring the game winner despite not stepping up earlier to change the lines at the 1st intermission where the unspoken comments about the most dangerous lead in hockey was eating at our hearts, everyone ganged up on Zarby with his so called “facts” he was trying to bring into the debate. Despite his misguided love of the left, he did not come to his sense and admit that the Fed has more influence over the economy than the President and Congress. Anyway, it was an ok game with at least a solid 3rd period, final result, and good after game social event. Hopefully your WIFE will let you stay out later next time…
Nice posts Neal & San…I told San in an email I’ll see about setting up a team target practice and group concealed weapons permit class at Davis’ in April. Skatch you work on building the still to start our revune you generation to help arm and train those on the team without any combat experience (yes living in NJ also qualifies as combat duty so your are good / get an immediate promotion to SGT in the Wake Countny chapter of the NCM).
PS the views represented in the messages above do not necessarily represent those of the Wevil Management or reality for that manner and intended for the sole enjoyment of our team and the government agencies monitoring our site (I put that one in their for Zarbs since I am sure he believes big brother is watching)
