Another season under the canopy of Weevil Nation! Sporting several new bugs and great new found attitude, we take the ice in true Weevil fashion. No sweaty balls or putrid smell coming from a walking pile of goalie gear before the game. Although we were missing several of the originals, the Weevil spirit still shines through. And we even got to warm up on a goalie before the game started.

The Weevils started the game sans time out against the newly formed Magna Group. Although they held strong in the 8th place position last year, rumors were circling that Magna had acquired some talent in the off season. If this is the truth, then those newbies did not show up for the first game. They played real hard for the first 15 minutes with 7 skaters. During this time, the Weevils were just working on knocking off the dust and getting their legs back. Cow was working on his crossover and Pinna looked like he had taken up smoking during the spring break. BMoore takes the first goal of the season from a dish from our newly acquired Tom Brown. The second goal was a mistake as the score keeper was probably talking to her girlfriend on the phone as Myze got the goal and he was not even in the building. Nice shot!

The second period was almost all Sattora-san, as he wiped down his bloody Hatori Hanzo blade after his 2nd kill. And somehow, Cow gets an assist on a goal by Todd ‘The Stripes’ Huestis for a good lead going into the final stretch. In this period, Skatch decides to get a head start on Myze taking 2 penalties for weak ass horizontal stick play. Skatch was thoroughly upset at the change of the hockey rules to the equivalent of a Disney theme park ride. Although Diddle doesn’t mind to much as he raced through the entire team at mach -1 taking full advantage of the new rules. If the old rules were in effect, he might not have made it past our blue line.

And the third period was soaked, cause it was raining goals. Brown gets 2 goals topping off his debut at 3 points this game! What a great addition to the team. And who can forget the wall that we built in net! Tweetie was off the hook, stopping multiple gunshots with her teeth! The only way they scored was because Diddle was tired of seeing the tears flow from Magna skaters every time she stuffed them, so he made one of his infamous passes right to a Magna in perfect position to put it away. But enough of that, cause no matter what Diddle did, she was not going to let them score again. Welcome to all the new member of the team! A great start to what will be a great season in Weevil Nation.

Thanks to Universal who started off the season right with dogs and beer! Can’t believe he didn’t bring any brats.goalie1.jpg

  1. Good start to the season!! We took a little time getting back into da hockies and getting used to the new faces, but after that it was like butta!! Much appreciation to the new folks…Aaron, Michelle, Tom and Rich…great showing last night and we’re all happy to have you on board. The games WILL get more difficult, but I think we’re going to have a good season from what I saw last night. Keep up the good work!!

  2. Looks like the Ringers need a goalie… pslow?

  3. Nice write up and I told you it was BYOB night…and that’s brauts for the acronym challenged.

PS Any drug reps on the team so we can get a discount on the “patch” for Pinna? I hate to see him get addicated to smoking at such a young age. What will his parents say if they find out?

  4. who is that incredibly sexy man standing off to the right in that photo?
I think his skates are nicer than sattora-sans

  5. Sidenote: I gave out the wrong jerseys to several players, so Ved got Tom Brown’s goals. I will fix the situation and hopefully they can change the stats for me. sorry Tom

  6. Great start to the season guys/gal. Thanks Uni for the dogs/beer. I don’t need no steeeenkin’ brauts!

  7. Holy Crap! Your website changed! What a shocker!

  8. Wow, love how they have a handle on the points streak info. Maybe they’ll get the names, numbers, and positions right some day! Also, we obviously need to increase our shot output. With 50 for the game that means we are only averaging a little over one shot per skater per period. We can do better than that can’t we?

  9. Holy Crap! Your’re still enamored with our website! What a shocker!
