Weevils Dropped Jager Bombs to No Avail

It was a bench filled night with 15 Weevs showing up to the game against the Wake Forest Enforcers. The game started out great as our forward lines were backchecking with the best of them and helping out the 3 lines of defense to thwart their offensive challenges. With Berger in net and basically on top of his game, we gave up only 1 crappy goal in the first period on a defensive breakdown. Peck took over the on ice captain position, barking orders and making lines while Timmy was on his sabbatical.

This game was full of good passes and defensive movement of the puck out of our zone, creating good scoring chances and a pleathera of shots. Our first goal was by none other than the Viper, Peter Heffring! A great pass and a nice slider right under the goalie for a 1 on the board.

On target for a win, the Weevils bring it back within 1 goal due to Decooman’s trash pick up on a great press from the ODB line. Unfortunately our defense was on its last leg and let another goal in taking us too far away to make a comeback with only 1 minute left. All in all a great game played by the ever improving Alera Weevils.

Several Weevs decided to step back on the ice against Odwyers in a match to stomach the wings and drop Jager Bombs… We lost that one too! Who is the wing man next week?
